I've found today another fighting against Edison's light bulb. Southern Electric and The Sun have joined to launch The Great British Light Switch. This is a national campaign to cut Britain’s emissions. This is not a law like in US but this is giveaway, Southern Electric are giving away 4.5 mln free energy saving light bulbs to over 2 million Sun readers on January 19th 2008.
